Cake toppers
Most Irish wedding cake toppers show a Claddagh or a Celtic knot. This one shows the two of you in your kilt and gown. We make it from your photos.
A saffron kilt and a lace gown. Most shops sell Irish symbols for the cake, such as the Claddagh or Celtic knots. They come in pewter or china.
A topper can also show the couple. One maker in Kerry models these by hand in polymer clay from the couple's photos. We 3D print ours from your photos.
In Ireland, most grooms now wear a suit. Tourism Ireland names a wedding suit of handwoven Donegal tweed. The full kilt outfit is more common among Irish Americans. Kilts belong to a wider Celtic tradition, not only a Scottish one.
Some Irish kilts are plain saffron, a mustard yellow. A groom can also wear a tartan kilt. Some brides choose Irish lace, often for the veil. For a time, Irish brides preferred blue gowns. An old rhyme says, "Married in blue, you're sure to be true."

The figure wears the clothes from your photos. Here is the same couple in a county tartan kilt, and in a tweed suit with a pale blue gown.

A tweed suit and a pale blue gown. Our upload page has 3 areas. The photo of the two of you goes in the middle. We build your topper from it. Use a sharp one where you stand head to toe, with room around you.
The two of you, head to toeEach side takes one outfit photo, one per partner, worn or on a hanger. Show the whole kilt or gown. Skip it, and the figure keeps the clothes from your photo. Want her veil on the figure? Put it in her outfit photo. Is the kilt rented, or the gown still at the shop? A picture from the shop's website works too.
His kilt, worn.
Her gown and veil on a hanger. The Claddagh may be Ireland's best-known piece of jewelry. It comes from a fishing village beside Galway. Its hands stand for friendship and its heart for love. The crown stands for loyalty. Claddagh designs come on rings and on cake knives.
In an old custom, the groom's cake was a fruit cake laced with whiskey. The top tier was kept for the birth of the first child. Some couples saved a tier for their 25th anniversary. The topper is not food-safe, so ask your baker for a clear acrylic disc to stand it on.
A topper keeps longer than cake, so you can use it again on an anniversary.
Put the photo of the two of you in the middle. Add the kilt and gown photos on the sides.
