Cake toppers
Open the topper the day it arrives and check it. Then keep it in its box and padding, in a cool, dry room out of the sun. Give it to your baker or planner in that box before the wedding day.

A printed figure, like ours, needs its box and padding, in a cool, dry place out of the sun. The rest of this guide is about that kind.
Do not leave the parcel sealed until the wedding. Open it and look at each part. Then pack it back the way it came. If something is broken or wrong, you still have time for a new one.
We bought 8 toppers from other makers for a test. One arrived broken on day 30, and the usable one came on day 47. With us, you report damage within 30 days of delivery, with your order number and a photo.
If a part is broken, read what to do when a topper arrives damaged before you glue it.

Put the box in a dry room that stays cool, out of direct sun. Sunlight can dull the gloss and turn clear coats yellow over time. Heat can soften printed plastic, and damp can crack or stain a topper. Skip the attic and the garage, since they get far hotter than a living room.
Tell your baker early that you have a topper. Then they can plan the top tier around it, instead of finding it at the venue.
Give the topper to your baker or planner before the wedding day, on a date you agree with them. Hand it over in its box and padding. Add a short note on the thin parts, and ask them to hold it by the base. The cake may travel to the venue without the topper. Your baker then places it once the cake is set up.
If you place it yourself, read how to put a topper on a cake.
