Cake toppers
Most beach wedding cake toppers are name signs or stock couples with a beach prop. A beach wedding cake topper can also show the two of you, in the clothes you wear on the sand.
A topper on a cake set in the shade by the sea.Search for a beach topper and you mostly find flat signs. They show your names or a palm tree, cut from wood or acrylic.
Others are tiny beach scenes with two chairs, or shells and starfish. The figures you find are stock couples, standing in the sand or sitting on a surfboard. Some sellers paint the hair to match yours. None of these is made from your photo. A topper made from your photo shows your own faces and the clothes you wear that day.
A couple topper in beach clothes.Beach wedding clothes are light and loose. Many grooms wear a linen shirt and light trousers, with no tie and the sleeves rolled up.
The topper wears what you wear in your photo. Your photo does not show your beach clothes? Add one outfit photo for each of you, on a hanger or worn.
Send one photo of just the two of you, head to toe, with both faces clear. A photo from the beach works if the light is soft. Strong sun casts hard shadows across faces. Open shade or a cloudy sky gives clearer faces.

Heat can melt the outside of a cake. Bakers keep it out of direct sun and set it out as late as they can. A cake may sit for up to six hours before it is cut.
Ask your baker which frosting suits the heat. Buttercream softens. Fondant holds its shape better, but it sweats when it moves from a cool room into warm air. Some couples pick fake tiers of foam covered in frosting, with one real tier to cut. Guests then eat from a sheet cake kept in the kitchen.
Most couples who marry at a beach far from home use a baker near the venue. So you bring the topper with you and hand it over. We ship within the United States. Have the topper sent to your home first, then take it on the trip in its box.
Our guide on how to store a cake topper before the wedding covers the box and the padding.
The topper is not food-safe. Ask the baker for a clear acrylic disc to stand it on.
